Movie Review

“Let the Sunshine In”

In my opinion, the best film in the world or at least one of the best is “Hair”. It’s a musical starring John Savage, Beverly D’Angelo and Treat Williams. The film is about a guy called Claude Hooper Bukowski, who came to New York City to get in the United States Army and to go to the war in the Vietnam. In NY, Claude meets George Berger at the Central Park, Berger is a hippie and he and his friends Jeannie, Hud and Woof just want to have peace, fun and love.

After a lot of troubles and adventures with the hippies, Claude got into the army. Berger, trying to save his new friend from the war, gets into a complicated situation, with terrible consequences.
The film was directed by Miles Forman. It was based on the book and music of Gerome Ragni and James Rado. The music was composed, arranged and conducted by Galt MacDermot and it’s really good. I’ve loved all the songs, but my favorites were “Aquarius”, “I got life”, “Hair” and “Flesh Failures”.

This is my favorite film because it’s a musical with great and psychedelic songs, and the context is the sixties, which is certainly my favorite decade and the subject is one of my favorites: cultural revolution.
